Want to stop unknown and unwanted calls ?

This is an application to block unknown/private incoming calls or make the ring tone silent. When an incoming call from a number set in the filter arrives, disconnect incoming or make the ring tone silent according to the specified conditions

Controlling ring tone can be set according to the day and time.

Also the pay version CallFilter Pro has additional features such as SMS block/block log, contacts sorting.

Introduction

Please test it before using CallFilter/CallFilter Pro.

Various models of Android mobile phone are available in the market. Many of them have unique customized phone functions. Therefore we cannot guarantee that CallFilter Pro will work with all of the models and functions.

At Android market, you can cancel your order anytime within 24 hours after purchasing.
Check the operation first and if you find any problems, cancel the order within 24 hours.

How to test

  1. Call to the handset installed CallFilter from another phone and confirm if the handset receives incoming calls all right.
  2. Activate CallFilter and check “Control the specified number”
  3. Click “ Add the last incoming number” button to add the last incoming call number.
  4. Again call the handset installed CallFilter from the phone used Step 1.
    The incoming call is successfully blocked No problem.
       Start registering numbers you wish to the filter list and enjoy being free from disturbing phone calls.

    The incoming call was blocked but transferred to your voice mail.
       Turn on “Hang up after connecting” setting in the settings window. Then try the step 4 again.
  5. When you confirmed normal behavior, turn off “Block specified numbers” and conduct step 4 and confirm if incoming calls are not blocked.
  • Failed the test and unable to block incoming calls.
    Uninstall the application and stop using. Phone functions are customized by each models.
    It is possible not to work properly with some models or carriers or it could be caused by some other installed applications.
    We are afraid that we are not able to test all models and carriers in all countries.
    We have conducted tests with the Japanese model,  HT-03A,XPERIA,HTC Desire
  • Please note the following.
    1.CallFilter may not work properly if other application for blocking incoming calls or controlling ring tone are installed.
    2.Also it would stop working properly when the OS is upgraded. 

Quick Guide

Updating the data from free version to Pro version

CallFilter free version users can import the settings to Pro version by following below steps. If a SD card is not inserted in your handset, data cannot be transferred.

  1. Update CallFilter1.2.9 or above and select “Export” in the settings window.
  2. Activate CallFilter Pro and select “Import” in the settings window. Existing same numbers will be overwritten.

Settings for controlling incoming calls (Block/Silent)

  1. Turn on the check box “Control specified numbers”
  2. Click the “Filter List” button and add the numbers you wish to block.
  3. The incoming calls which are blocked by CallFilter will be displayed in the Block History.
    If you do not wish to leave the log, turn off the check box “Control Call Log”

SMS Control (Available for Pro version only)

  1. Turn on the check box “Control specified numbers”.
  2. Click the “Filter List” button and add the numbers you wish to block.
    Click the registered number in the menu and select “Incoming Action” to view editing window
  3. When you turn on “Block SMS”, incoming SMS form the number will be blocked.

Detailed Settings

TopScreen

  • Block unknown incoming calls
    Block incoming calls with unknown numbers.
    Unknown means the incoming calls viewed with Private/Unknown instead of showing phone numbers.
    Please note that it does not mean that the numbers not registered in your contacts list or calls from someone you do not know.
  • Control specified numbers.
    You can block the numbers registered in the Filter List or make the ring tone silent. When this check box is off, the numbers registered in the Filter List cannot be blocked.
  • Call Filter
    Register the numbers you wish to block.
  • Add the last incoming to the list.
    Register the last incoming number to be blocked.
  • Setting...
    Display Settings.
  • Filter List
    Display the Filter List window. ( same as when you click Call Filter button)
  • Blocked History(CallFilter Pro Only)
    Display the log of blocked incoming calls and SMS.

Filer List Settings

  • About the controlling incoming call icon.
    You can set the different control actions of registered numbers in the Filter List by each number such as blocking incoming calls, silent and blocking SMS. (※SMS block function is available only for Pro version.)
    Setting status is displayed with an icon on the left of the number.
    To switch Block/Silent, click the number and the menu below will be displayed.

  • Add number
    Click menu key to add the number you wish to control. How to add is see below.
    1. From Contacts
      Select a number from the Contacts and register it to the Filter List.
    2. From Call Log.
      Select a number from your call log (except unknown incoming calls) and register it to the Filter List.
    3. Input Number (Start with)
      Set all numbers starting from the number you input.
      For example, if you input 03-3749, all numbers starting with 03-3749 are set to be controlled.
    4. Input Number
      Display input window and you input the each number manually.
    5. Numbers not in Contacts.
      Control incoming (block or set silent ring tone) for the numbers which are not registered in your Contacts.
Click the number menu 
  • Remove
    To delete a number in the Filter List, click the number and select “Delete” from the menu.
  • Incoming Action
    Click a number in the Filter List and select “Incoming Action” in the menu.
  • Edit Name/Number(CallFilter Pro only)
    To edit a name or number, Click a number in the Filter List and select “Edit” from the menu.

  • Control Incoming Call
    To control incoming calls, turn it on There are two options for controlling, Block and Silent.
    • Block
      Block incoming calls.
    • Silent
      You will receive incoming calls but the ring tone will be silent not to disturb you for instance during the night.
  • Block SMS (Pro version only)
    Block SMS. You will receive neither incoming nor notification.
  • Control Call Log
    When you block an incoming call, if this setting is on, the incoming call will be recorded in the block log. If this is off, no log will remain.
  • Block SMS Log
    When you block SMS, if this setting is on, the incoming SMS will be recorded in the block log. If this is off, no log will remain.
Setting Silent Mode
 

Setting Silent Mode
Silent mode does not block incoming but make the ring tone silent.
How to set is as follows.
・Select the days you wish to be silent
・You can also set the time by ”Predetermine Silent Mode Time”



Example1:You wish to make it silent during your commuting hours, 7:30~9:00 a.m.
Check MON~FRI
Check “Predetermine Silent Mode Time”. Then put 7:30 in “From” and 9:00 in “To”.

Example 2:You wish to make it silent from Monday to Friday, 23:00 p.m.~7:00a.m.
Check MON~FRI
Check “Predetermine Silent Mode Time”. Then put 23:00 in “From” and 7:00 in “To”.

#Notes in Use
If you check Monday and set the time , 0:00~6:00 Silent mode will be during 0:00~6:00 on Monday.
If check Monday and set the time 23:00~6:00, silent mode will be between Monday 23:00~Tuesday 6:00.
Please note that the setting day is the day you set “From”.
If you wish to set silent mode from Sunday 23:00 to Monday 6:00, select Sunday as the day.

Settings

  • Hung up after connecting.
    Use this function if blocked incoming calls are transferred to your voicemail.
    With some carriers and models, it would not work. In that case, incoming calls will be still transferred to your voice mail even you set this option.
  • Export
    Export the Filter list into a SD card.
  • Import
    Import the Filter list exported from CallFilter.
  • Setting Advice
    You do not need to use this option when the application is working all right.
    This will show you 1. the blocking status when the last call was failed to be controlled and 2. setting errors when incoming calls are failed to be blocked.
    This option is for incoming calls only not for SMS.
  • Feedback
    Report by e-mail in case of unable to receive incoming calls or find bugs.
    The information you send will be used only for problem analysis.
    It will not be used any other purposes.
    The contents of information you are required to send are the model you use, incoming number, program information at incoming and installed applications.

FAQ

  • What is the difference between CallFilter Pro,CallFilter?
    CallFilter Pro has the additional features described as below:
    -SMS Blocking
    -Block Log
    -Search and sort of Contacts
    Please note that from now on the priority for updating will be given to CallFilter Pro.
  • Unable to block any incoming calls at all.
    Please read “Read me” and run the test to check if there are any mistakes of setting.
    You can use “Setting Advice” in the setting window to check the status of the last blocked number and confirm if there are any mistakes.
    We have received reports from many users. See the below for FAQ:
    -Misunderstood that “unknown calls” meant “the numbers not in the Contacts” and did not register any numbers in the Filter List.
    -The incoming number was not registered in the Filter List. Concerning the reports claiming that the blocked incoming calls are transferred to voice mail, CallFilter does not block incoming calls in many of these cases too.
    -The check box of “Control specified numbers” was off.
    -In the reports transferring to voice mail, the option of “Hung up after connecting” option was not used.
  • Sometimes I fail to block.
    Due to load, status or timing of your handset, there are some cases that blocking process is not executed.
    The frequency of failure can be reduced by deleting the block settings such as selecting numbers (start with) or numbers not in Contacts.
  • After blocking an incoming call, the ring tone gets silent mode.
    It may happen when you installed some other applications to block incoming calls or change the ring tone.
    Uninstall those applications which activate at receiving incoming.
  • At blocking an incoming call, occasionally the handset rings just for a second.
    The blocking process is executed after receiving incoming calls. your handset may rings for several seconds.
    It will depend on the model or timing. This may be avoided if you set the ring tone silent for first several seconds.
  • I set to block unknown calls. Then calls from a public phone are also blocked
    Unknown incoming calls could be:
    1.From a caller with the number withheld.(anonymous caller)
    2.From a public phone.
    3.From an area that unable to notify.
    Unless the phone program of carriers are modified, our program cannot distinguish these three types.
    Please note that if you set blocking unknown incoming calls, calls from a public phone and international phone calls which are unable to notify callers ID will be also blocked.
